When it comes to selling a home in 2022, there are a number of options available, but which one is the right one for you? Let’s explore a few of the options to help understand which options work in your exact situation.
For most people, when you think of selling a home, you immediately think of real estate agents and having someone else manage the process. Along with this comes setting a timeline for selling, getting pre-sale inspections done, fixing things up, getting some photos, listing the home, and setting a price. That sounds like a lot of work though, especially when considering you will be giving a portion of the sale to that agent. The one benefit of an agent is their ability to make your home look appealing to people when it is listed but having an appealing home doesn’t guarantee your home will sell.
Another option is to find an investment firm that buys homes for cash. This option is still a relatively newer idea, but it does have some great benefits. For starters, most times you won’t ever have to list your home on the market. This eliminates clean-up, photos, listing fees, and all the tedious work that goes into listing properties for sale. Another massive benefit is flexibility. When talking terms, price, and expenses, firms that buy homes will often work to fit your needs. Whether you are in a rush to sell, or just considering the idea, most firms will give you an offer before signing any agreements or making any commitments. While a formal inspection is likely still needed, many firms do not require the seller to make any aesthetic repairs before selling, whereas an agent would want things to look as good as possible.
A third option is to DIY it or do it yourself. This is by far the most difficult of the 3 approaches, but if you know what you are doing, you may be able to pull it off.
